Our Founding and Purpose

Find Your Bold

The Find Your Bold Team was originally created to support one individual with an intellectual disability as she conquered the course for the first time.  This team of three quickly grew to 23 in 2016 and includes members with physical and intellectual disabilities, phobias, social and emotional anxieties, cancer survivors, veterans, and domestic violence survivors. Supported by each other and other teammates along the way, each member finds their Bold in their own way. In 2018 and 2019, we had over 80 members participate in BoldrDash events.

In 2020, Find Your Bold and BoldrDash teamed up to rise above COVID and bring you the best outdoor training opportunities in Southern New England while raising funds and awareness for the Find Your Bold Organization.

About BoldrDash

BoldrDash was created in 2011.  An obstacle course event where the obstacles are built in levels of difficulty to best fit the needs of the participant.  As the popularity of obstacle course racing (OCR) continues to grow, BoldrDash’s unique build continues to encourage people of all levels of fitness and ability to come together and overcome personal limitations in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

BoldrDash works with nonprofit and other organizations to help create fun and engaging events to raise funds and awareness for their organizations and missions.  In 2018, we partnered with Wickford Veterinary Clinic, in North Kingstown, and Almost Home Rescue to create the first ever DoggieDash.  DoggieDash was a huge success and has since been added to the yearly scheudle of events.

Lynn Hall

Founder

With almost 20 years experience in personal/group training and a passion for helping people achieve their goals, this happily married mother of three has a long history working with nonprofit organizations. In 2010, after completing her first Spartan race, Lynn saw a real opportunity to create an event where everyone from elite athletes to beginners could compete, be challenged, and experience the exhilaration that comes with accomplishment.

In 2015, Lynn founded a unique nonprofit organization that encourages all to overcome their personal and perceived limitations in life via Obstacle Course Events.  BoldrDash supports Find Your Bold and the Find Your Bold Team at every event.

“What I really love is being able to be a part of something that makes people feel good about themselves while helping others. I especially love working with people on goals they never thought possible. You can do anything with the right support and encouragement. At the end of the day, that is what BoldrDash is all about.”

Grant has been with the team since the beginning.  After attending bootcamps in 2011, as a licensed contractor, he volunteered his time to assist in the build of the very first BoldrDash event.  He has since moved into the position of Head Builder, supervising every event setup, and Event Day Director.  His creativity and commitment to building some of the safest obstacles in the business is greatly appreciated by the build team, staff, volunteers and, of course, our runners.

Erica Richey

Erica Richey

Erica is an avid obstacle racer.  she started participating in BoldrDash events in 2014 while starting a new fitness journey. Since then she has run over 50 races, climbed vast mountains, jogged and then ran countless miles! Erica says her favorite part of BoldrDash is the community because they are always there to lift you when you aren’t strong enough to do it yourself (sometimes literally). Erica also loves motivating people and watching them on their fitness journey; if you see her around the course make sure to say hi!

I did my first obstacle course back in 2014. I started with a Spartan Race over in CT. I was never very fit or athletic but the year before decided to start exercising and get healthier. Once I finished, I was in pain, but I was hooked. I then managed to find my way over to BoldrDash. I signed up as a volunteer for my first event (I still have the t-shirt) at Yawgoo. It was brutal. By now I have done almost every version of BoldrDash since then; In the Mud, At the Beach, Winterdash, and now at Canonicus Camp. I have completed races for multiple different race organizers and BoldrDash always stands out not only for their variety of obstacles, but for constantly adding challenging obstacles.
Currently I am a Physics and Math Teacher in Pawtucket. I like to spend my weekends with my girlfriend and our new pup, going for bike rides, and, of course, doing BoldrDash bootcamps.

“The people that work behind the scenes and on Event Day to make BoldrDash happen are not only part of the BoldrDash crew, they are my friends and they are my family and I love them dearly!”
